Easter is always a time to get family together for a fun dinner or brunch. You can make these easy DIY Easter Bunny ears napkin rings and place holders to add a little fun to your Easter table! The kids will love it, and grown ups will, too! I remember going to my grandma’s house when I was growing up, and Easter was one of the few occasions where we would all sit around the table in the formal dining room. It was a little intimidating sometimes! These DIY Easter bunny ears would have lightened the mood, even if they were just at the kids’ table!
The materials listed here will make about a dozen napkin rings or place card holders.
Materials:
- heavy white fleece: 1/4 yard
- Cream burlap: 1/4 yard
- pink felt: 1 piece
- hot glue gun & glue sticks
- Easter bunny ears and napkin ring pattern print out
Step 1: Print out the Easter bunny ears napkin ring and place card holder pattern and cut out the pieces.
Step 2: For each napkin ring and place card holder set you want to cut out, cut 1 of the band and ears each, and 4 inner ears. Cut the ears from the fleece, the band from the burlap, and the inner ears from the pink felt.
Step 3: Heat up a hot glue gun, and use it to glue the ends together on the burlap band pieces to form a ring, one each for the napkin ring and the place card holder.
Step 4: Pinch the ear piece in half length wise and put a small bit of glue in the center to keep it pinched. Then, fold it in half and glue the base to the napkin ring or place card holder. If you’re gluing the ears to the napkin ring, lay the ring down and glue the ears to the top.
Step 5: Glue the pink inner ear pieces to what will be the inside of the bunny ears one on each ear. Put a line of glue from the top to the bottom on the back of the pink inner ear to glue it in place. Once the glue is dry it will also help give support to the ear so it will stand up.
Step 6: To glue the ears to the place card holder, leave the ring standing and glue the ears at the top, just behind the front.
Step 7: Print out place card names for everyone coming to your party, and cut them to fit the place card holder. You can use any word processing program like Word (PC) or Pages (Mac) to create your names. Get a little fancy with your fonts if you’d like!
Use a small bit of hot glue to glue the name tag to the front of the bunny ear place card holder.
Step 8: Feed your napkins and silverware through the napkin ring.
Step 9: Make and place one napkin ring and place card holder at each place on your Easter table.
