Sure, my summers are a blast but they’re challenging, too. Entertaining my three boys (all under the age of 10) for 10 weeks is quite a feat. Family Vision Boards
Grab a bunch of old magazines, pull out some paper and glue and use summer as an opportunity to talk to your children about how to set goals for the new school year. It could be as simple as photos of playful activities to remind them to have fun (they are kids after all!) or as specific as a thing they’d like to learn.

Sponge Water Bombs
Water balloons are hands-down my boys’ favorite summer activity. But since they aren’t quite old enough to tie the balloons off, that means mommy has to tie a million and one all by herself. Not fun. So instead, I created these reusable sponge water bombs perfect for summer and easy on moms everywhere.

This is a really inexpensive way to occupy your kids for a while… it also makes for a fun treat to “clean up” when they’re finished!

Backyard Camping
Kids love the idea of camping, but I can’t get past the bugs, the dirt and sleeping in a tent. So, what’s the compromise? “Camping” in the backyard! I’m happy to set up a makeshift campsite for my boys and they’re happy to eat the s’mores.

It’s the simplest idea in the world. Get some string, hang some donuts from a low branch, and have the kids try and eat the donuts off the string without using their hands.
