Ree Drummond, also known as The Pioneer Woman, gave her mom a shout-out on Instagram this week. In two photos posted to her account, Drummond showed off a bit of twinning between herself and mom, Gerre Schwert.
“Sharing this mother-daughter shot because it cracks me up,” Drummond wrote in the caption.

One of the photos shows Drummon and Schwert sipping fruity cocktails, complete with cute colored straws. That alone would be adorable but the ladies took it one step further. They either coordinated floral blouses or just have a remarkably similar sense of style. Twinning.
While it’s a fun photo, Drummond does state that it “isn’t the most representative photo of my mom.” She posted another that she says hits the mark a bit better.
In the second photo, Schwert appears to be arriving at the lodge where the photos were taken, alight with joy. “It’s when she first walked into the Lodge to film last Wednesday,” Drummond writes. “Love and joy enter the room when she does, and everyone’s always happy to see her.”
It’s a sweet caption for a sweet moment. One that was undoubtedly much-needed after the family’s recent mourning. According to PEOPLE, Drummond’s brother recently passed away at the age of 54. Back in November, Drummond posted about the tragedy on Facebook.
“It isn’t possible to sum up the life of someone as perfectly wonderful as my brother Michael,” Drummon wrote, sharing multiple photos of her brother. “He was seventeen months older than me, my first friend and buddy, and I’m so grateful for over 50 years of photos and memories.”
Hopefully, having this moment with mom after such a loss offered them both a bit of healing.
