Why Halle Berry Thinks Menopause Deserves a Rebranding

On October 21, Halle Berry participated in the HLTH Conference 2024, where she discussed everything related to menopause and launched her wellness brand Respin’s newest venture. She touched upon her menopause journey and the major shift she is seeing in how society views women’s health. In the conference, she stated that menopause is one of the first things that needs to be rethought and rebranded for women to receive the help they need during perimenopause and menopause.

Halle Berry opens up about rebranding menopause

Halle Berry has always been open about menopause needing more love from the community. The natural stage of every woman’s life needs to be researched more as she acknowledged that society knows “pretty much nothing” about it. According to WWD, she questioned, “What deserves a re-spin more than menopause? Shouldn’t we rethink everything we thought we knew about menopause?”

Berry’s wellness brand, Respin, aims to provide a platform for women going through perimenopause and menopause. She hopes it will encourage further research on women’s health. The digital community will also be a space for the actor to share her own journey and how she is navigating the same.

Berry has previously touched upon this topic on the “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” show. She recounted a conversation she had with Mike Tyson about menopause. The boxing legend was curious about the topic after the actor and his wife started discussing menopause.

During the show, she also talked about not having much help while navigating the changes that menopause brings. As such, she wants to be the person every woman can reach out to by providing them a platform with all the information related to perimenopause and menopause.

Earlier this year, Halle Berry showed her support for legislation that will call for more financial support for clinical trials on menopause. It will put about $275 million into further research and study of the same. According to AP News, she said, “The shame has to be taken out of menopause. We have to talk about this very normal part of our life that happens.”
