The Kardashian sisters no longer want any part of the pre-paid credit card they were endorsing.
Kim, Khloe, and Kourtney were initially on board with the new Kardashian pre-paid MasterCard, until the Attorney General of Connecticut decided to investigate the company issuing the card. The credit card was supposed to be a great tool for young people to track their spending, also allowing their parents access to keep an eye on where the money was going, but after receiving complaints over ridiculously high fees, the women decided the card was not worth ruining their reputations.
Their lawyer shared: “The Kardashians have worked extremely long and hard to create a positive public persona that appeals to everyone, particularly young adults. Unfortunately, the negative spotlight turned on the Kardashians as a result of the Attorney General’s comments and actions threatens everything for which they have worked.” The card reportedly charged $9.95 just for owning it, plus an additional $7.95 monthly fee, AND charged another $1.50 every time money was added to the account. Once they realized what was going on, they wanted out. Their attorney filed paperwork to end their involvement with the card.
I’m sure they aren’t too distraught over losing out on any compensation they were receiving – the Kardashians have numerous endorsement deals with Skechers, Quick Trim, teeth whiteners, etc. Not to mention their books, reality shows, DASH clothing boutiques, and a long list of other business ventures.
