Johnny Depp opens up about heading down the aisle with his partner Vanessa Paradis.
The actor is currently promoting his new film with Angelina Jolie, “The Tourist”, so we’ll be seeing and hearing a lot from him in the media over the next week or so. He addressed the one question that all interviewers seem to ask: Are he and Vanessa, who have been together for over 12 years, planning to walk down the aisle? He joked: “I’d be so scared of ruining her last name. She’s got such a good last name.”
“I never found myself needing that piece of paper,” he says. “Marriage is really from soul to soul, heart to heart. You don’t need somebody to say, okay you’re married.” He also shared that he’s not against it completely, saying that he would: “if Vanessa wanted to get hitched.”
Johnny just finished up filming the fourth installment of “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” and is looking forward to a long holiday break after the press tour for “The Tourist” winds down. He plans to spend a lot of time with his kids, Lily Rose, 11, and Jack, 8, and also catching up on sleep: “Sleeping, sleeping and playing with a lot of toys with my son,” says the actor. “Hanging out with the kiddies.”
