The Royals Arrive in NYC (+ Where Kate Middleton Got Her Coat)

Welcome to America, Will and Kate!

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge arrived at JFK airport on Sunday night, marking the beginning of their three-day trip to New York City. Whisked from the airport to the Carlyle Hotel by motorcade, the couple was greeted by an excited crowd.

who is about five months pregnant with baby #2, and William posed briefly for the paparazzi outside the famous hotel. The Duchess wore a gorgeous bespoke coat designed by her go-to maternity brand Seraphine, reports the blog Duchess Kate. The custom “Marina” coat in maroon and black with black trim was paired with a fitted black dress, and accessorized with black suede booties. Kate also wore the diamond earrings Prince Charles gave her as a wedding gift.

It’s a quick trip for the young royals who will be catching a flight back to London on Tuesday night following a gala dinner to raise money for their university St. Andrews. A visit to the White House is also on the agenda for William today, while Kate will make a trip to a Harlem child development center. The couple will catch a Nets game at Barclay Center in Brooklyn tonight. Because of their busy itinerary and the brevity of the stay, Prince George stayed in Bucklebury with his maternal grandparents.
