Following winter’s heavy stews and soups, we often crave fresh flavors and gentle textures. This recipe for Tilapia delivers exactly that.
This fish dish is light, flavorful, and super healthy — and my 5-year-old absolutely loves it! He’s a somewhat picky eater, but here he cleaned his plate and asked for seconds!
Tilapia is a delicate, mild, and inexpensive fish. And like most fish, it cooks in just a few minutes!
Ingredients:
- 1 pound Tilapia fillets
- 1/4 cup orange juice
- 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon honey
- 2 small tangerines or oranges
- Salt and pepper
Preparation:
Serves 4
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cooking Time: 7 minutes
Place the Tilapia fillets in a baking pan that’s approximately 9 X 13 X 2 inches. Pour the orange juice evenly over the fish and sprinkle with the thyme. Drizzle the honey evenly over each fillet and add the tangerine or orange segments to the pan, surrounding the fish. Let it marinate for about 10 minutes.
Turn on the broiler and adjust the rack so your pan will be within a couple inches of the flame. Season the fish with salt and pepper and place under the broiler just until cooked through, about 7 minutes. Drizzle the remaining marinade from the pan on top of the fish. And enjoy!
