Are you or your kiddos giving valentines this year? Try something a little different and pass these little golden animals around! This project is simple, quick, and sure to be something a little different and fun. Heck, I’m a grownup and I’d love to get one of these wild valentines! Let’s make some.
Supplies:
- plastic toy animals (check your local dollar store)
- gold spray paint
- small wooden hearts (at most craft stores)
- craft paint
- paintbrushes
- glue gun
Instructions:
Step 1: Make sure the animals are clean and dry. In a well-ventilated area, cover with a light coat of spray paint. Let dry and apply more coats as needed for full coverage.
Step 2: While the animals are drying, apply craft paint to the small wooden hearts. Allow these to dry completely as well.
Step 3: Decide where you’d like to place a heart on your animal. They can go in mouths, on hooves, in claws, or anywhere else that might be fun. Place a small dot of hot glue on the back of each heart and adhere it to the animal. Let everything dry thoroughly and give them out on Valentine’s Day!
