Hold up, I have the solution to your jewelry organization woes. Tangled necklaces and bracelets, mismatched earrings—I’ve dealt with it all and am here to reveal the hope I found in this DIY jewelry organizer. Just by taking some chicken wire and an old frame (that I haven’t used since my wedding), I created an aesthetically pleasing and practical jewelry display. Don’t be scared by the manly supply list, I promise this is easy and painless to make!
Supplies:
- Any size frame you have (large enough to hold the jewelry you want to showcase)
- Chicken wire (available at any hardware store)
- Gold spray paint – because it’s the classiest color
- Wire cutters
- Staple gun
- S hooks (also at a nearby hardware store)
Instructions:
Step 1: Spray paint the chicken wire and S hooks gold, and let them dry for a few minutes.
Step 2: Use the staple gun to staple the chicken wire onto the edges of the frame. You want to make sure that the chicken wire looks like hexagons when you hang your frame (vertical or horizontal), so be sure to staple it that way!
Step 3: With the wire cutters, clip the chicken wire to fit the frame and bend the edges around the staples to secure (and hide!) it.
Step 4: Hang your frame from the wall…pause, and admire. 🙂 (It still gets prettier!)
Step 5: Now hang the S hooks from the flat parts of the chicken wire hexagons and drape your jewelry on them! You’ll probably want to use two hooks for necklaces and earring sets and one for bracelets.
Ta-da! Showcase all that pretty jewelry so it doubles as artwork in just five steps!
