Dwayne Wade proposed to longtime girlfriend Gabrielle Union last week with a gorgeous diamond ring. This week their engagement was overshadowed this week by the news that Dwyane welcomed a third son just last month – and not with Gabrielle.
Dwyane and Gabrielle, who’ve been dating since 2009, took a “break” earlier this year and he got another woman pregnant. He confirmed the news in a press conference yesterday. “I had a time, a part in our break, in our pain and our hurt, a blessing came out of it in my life, having a son that was born healthy. So I’m moving on.” He shared that all that matters to him “is to always focus on what’s most important to me and my family, and that’s being a great father. I’ve always tried to show my importance in my kids’ lives and it doesn’t change now. So, I, my lady and my family have continued to move forward, and I think that’s evident with the ring and the proposal that I gave her, with our lives.”
According to Entertainment Tonight, they’ve worked through the situation as a couple and Gabrielle was fully aware of the situation the entire time, even when he proposed.
Along with the newborn son, Dwayne is also dad to two sons from a previous marriage and also raises a nephew, too.
