In the November issue of Glamour, Sandra Bullock talked quite a bit about her son Louis, whom she adopted in 2010 from New Orleans.
When asked how she feels about raising an African American son when the news is fraught with the peril that African Americans are facing today, Bullock began to tear up. “You see how far we’ve come in civil rights—and where we’ve gotten back to now,” she said. “I want my son to be safe. I want my son to be judged for the man he is. We are at a point now where if we don’t do something, we will have destroyed what so many amazing people have done.”
As a mother, Bullock gets it just right when talking about the life she wishes for her 5-year-old boy. “If I could ride in a bubble with him for the rest of his life, I would,” she shared. “But I can’t.”
The Academy Award-winning actress — a self-professed introvert who has said that she likes taking care of people — is rumored to be in the process of adopting a baby girl.
