After the supermodel posted a mirror-selfie of her new bump on Instagram, along with the witty comment, “Someone is early to the party,” she received harsh, skeptical, and downright mean comments. Haters suggested that the 29-year-old must be carrying twins or triplets, or even that it might only be a food baby.
Through the barrage of cruel comments, Teigen seemed to be remain positive at first, replying to several of her critics with frustrated emojis and her signature wit.
“Good thing I am unoffendable or this would be a rough few months,” she tweeted yesterday.
The relentless bump-shaming comes at the end of a six-year struggle to have children that finally ended in successful pregnancy through IVF. Becoming pregnant after such a frustrating and arduous journey should be a blessed, joyful time for any new mom, but thanks to the insane Internet bump-shaming, Teigen has been forced to keep her happiness and excitement to herself.
“No more preg tweeting for me, lesson learned!! Back to food and reality TV and hay things,” she tweeted, at one point.
On October 12, the supermodel posted this touching photo on Instagram to announce that she and Legend were expecting their first baby together.
