15 New Disney Movies We Can’t Wait To Watch

Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck it Ralph 2

Get ready for the craziest crossover ever. Video game characters Wreck-it Ralph (voiced by John C. Reilly) and Vanellope (Sarah Silverman) travel into the internet, where they’ll meet up with characters from Star Wars, Marvel, and even real deal Disney princesses like Rapunzel (Mandy Moore), Anna (Kristen Bell), Moana (Auli‘i Cravalho), and more. Release date: November 21, 2018

Mary Poppins Returns

It’s a risky undertaking, making a sequel to such an admired classic. But Disney seems to be doing everything right, hiring Rob Marshall (Chicago, Into the Woods) to direct, and casting Meryl Streep, Lin-Manuel Miranda, and Emily Blunt, whom we think will be practically perfect in every way. Release date: December 25, 2018

Cruella

101 Dalmatians
has gotten the live action treatment before, with Glenn Close as the villainous puppy snatcher, but Cruella is shaping up to be an origin story of the evil Ms. De Vil, with Emma Stone starring and a script from the writer of The Devil Wears Prada. Should be spot on. Release date: TBD in 2018

Magic Camp

Andy (Pitch Perfect‘s Adam Devine) becomes a counselor at a summer camp for wannabe magicians. And how’s this for a trick? It’s written by Steve Martin and directed by Mark Waters (Mean Girls and Freaky Friday), so this new Disney movie should be magically funny. Release date: TBD 2018

Aladdin

After Cinderella and Beauty and the Beast killed it at the box office, Disney set its sights on a live action remake of Aladdin, flying carpet and all. It will hard to top the late great Robin Williams as Genie, but we’re excited to see Will Smith’s take on the riffing role. Release date: May 24, 2019
