He may play one of TV’s ditziest teenage boys, but in real life Nolan Gould is anything but!
Nolan plays the role of Luke Dunphy, the not-so-bright son of Claire and Phil, played by Julie Bowen and Ty Burrell on ABC’s hit comedy Modern Family. In a hilarious twist, Nolan is actually a member of MENSA, with an IQ of 150. At just 13 years old, he is starting college after “testing out” of high school!
Nolan shared with Ellen DeGeneres, “Over the summer, I did a lot of studying and I took an exam and tested out of high school. So, I’m hopefully going to go on and do some online community college courses.”
Nolan joked about having achieved so much at 13, he doesn’t know where he goes from here. “I realized something as I was driving in my limo [heading to the Emmy Awards] ‘Wait a second! I’m 13! This is my third time at the Emmys. What am I supposed to do with the rest of my life?!’ It’s all downhill from now.”
Do you watch Modern Family? Are you shocked to learn that Nolan is a genius?
