With air-dried, natural hair being one of 2016’s top trends in beauty, it’s obvious that a natural look to go with it is the perfect fit.
My friends always mention that it’s a tricky feat for them to get out the door looking like they’re not wearing makeup, but not looking like they just rolled out of bed. It’s a fine line between looking effortless yet completely perfect.
I’m obsessed with the “no makeup” makeup look. Here’s how you can get it, step by step!
Supplies:
- facial exfoliant (like Proactiv+ Skin Smoothing Exfoliator)
- basic makeup brush set (like Sephora’s Tools of the Trade set)
- BB cream or tinted moisturizer with SPF
- light brown eye shadow
- shimmery vanilla eye shadow
- black or brown eyeliner
- black mascara
- bronzer
- peachy-toned cream blush (like Sonia Kashuk Crème Blush in Rosey 02)
- highlighter (like NARS illuminator in Orgasm)
- coral or skin-toned lip gloss
Instructions:
Step 1: Start with a BB cream or a tinted moisturizer with SPF on exfoliated skin. Make sure skin has been exfoliated so that your healthy glow can be enhanced.
Step 2: Apply a light brown eye shadow to whole lid.
Step 3: Wiggle black or brown eyeliner into lash line. Make sure to get liner really into the lashes to make them look dark from the base. Smudge with finger if you want a really soft look.
Step 4: Apply two coats of black mascara to lashes.
Step 5: Next, brush up brows to wake up eyes even more. You can also add a shimmery vanilla shadow to inner corners of eyes to help brighten.
Step 6: Swipe on bronzer to cheekbones and temples.
Step 7: Apply a rosy or peachy toned cream blush to the apples of your cheeks and blend with your fingers.
Step 8: Add highlighter to apples of cheeks and temples to catch the light and create a fresh glow.
Step 9: Sweep coral or lip-toned color to your lips.
Voila! You are ready to face the day looking great, without a pile of makeup.
