It was one of those mornings after dealing with my one daughter’s night terrors and simultaneously dealing with my other daughter insisting on sleeping in our bed with us that I was inspired to put together this tutorial. Even the tiredest and smallest eyes can see their best day with a few helpful tips. Whether your eyes are naturally small or you just had a rough night of no sleep, this is an easy trick to make your eyes look bigger. Even better, it doesn’t require a ton of makeup to achieve.

Supplies:
- Eyebrow brush
- A slightly shimmery, light vanilla eye shadow like the lightest colors found in Naked Palettes
- Basic eye shadow brush
- Your favorite precision eyeliner (pencil, liquid or powder is fine)
- Mascara
Instructions:
Step 1: Brush up brows. By brushing your brow hair upward you are literally drawing the eye up to create a wide open look.
Step 2: Pick a light vanilla eye shadow shade. Highlight both the brow bone right under the brow and the inner corner of your eye. You won’t need much to create the illusion of wide open eyes. By using a slightly shimmery vanilla shade, you are able to draw in light to catch those parts of the eye. This creates the illusion of a bigger space. In the same way that wearing black makes the body appear smaller, white can make a shape look bigger. That’s the secret to this trick!
Step 3: Line only the upper lash line. By skipping the under-eye area with your liner, you are drawing all the attention upward.
Step 4: Add mascara only to the top lashes. Like the liner, use mascara to darken and lift the upper lashes. This will draw eyes upward without bringing any attention to the lower eye.
Voila!
