Peacoats will never go out of style. This one is a little longer with ten(!) buttons on the front. It will look as good on the docks as it does in the city.

Classic Peacoat from Joe Fresh
If you are looking for a more budget friendly version of a peacoat, I bought this one a few years ago at Joe Fresh's Black Friday sale, and it is still going strong. Sometimes you have to worry about wool stretching over time, but it has kept its shape really well.

I am in serious need of a nice leather jacket. My last one bit the dust after college, and this beautiful brown coat is calling my name. Plus, the quality of Banana Republic is a far step up from all those misguided Wilson's Leather coats I wore in high school.

A good puffy jacket is key for cold temperatures, and you have to balance the size of the coat versus the warmth. UNIQLO has worked some magic with their down coats. This thing kept me toasty through three winters in New York. Plus, there are a ton of fun colors.

Some people love these kind of duffle clasps on coats, and some people can't stand them. I like them, and I also like the length and feel of this coat. Those fasteners are a classic look that will never go out of style.

Sometimes you just gotta go old school. I still wear one of my dad's winter coats from the '70s that looks pretty similar to this. Glad to see fashion has come full circle again.
