Sure, losing the baby weight was important to me after after both kids. But, when I was postpartum it took a while for me to get back into my regular workout routine (or any routine of any kind, really). My midwife had suggested the requisite six weeks of downtime to let my body recuperate — which I totally needed, BTW — but toward the end I started going kind of stir crazy. I needed to get out and prove that I was still capable of moving my body and working up a sweat.
But here’s the thing: My body wasn’t the same. I needed more support for my gummy bear tummy, and my giant milk-filled boobs were not about to cram into my old flimsy sports bra. There were other issues, too (um, you’ll know what I mean if you’ve ever tried doing jumping jacks after having a baby). But I wasn’t about to let that stop me. I found some awesome postpartum workout gear that made me feel comfortable, supported, strong, and ready to get back in the game. Check out this list of gear and gear up for losing the baby weight (when you’re ready to, of course).
