The 2010 Gary Farrell Sauvignon Blanc from the Redwood Ranch in Sonoma County is a perfect wine to sip on this summer. The quality of the fruit from Redwood Ranch is remarkable, year after year.
The 2010 Sauvignon Blanc is aromatic with a nice, fresh intensity. The grapefruit, lime and tropical fruit notes jump out of the glass beautifully. The slight herbal note in the wine adds depth and complexity. The wine is dry with a wonderfully balanced crisp acidity. I love the slight vanilla note of the wine, resulting from a short time in oak. The liveliness and expressiveness of this Sauvignon Blanc makes it an excellent sipper, as well as extremely food friendly.
