The Big Bang Theory’s Mayim Bialik Opens Up About Her Car Accident

‘The Big Bang Theory’ star Mayim Bialik had to tweak playtime with her kids following a recent car accident.

On her way to meet her husband and kids for lunch last week, the actress was hit by another car and rushed to the hospital with a serious hand injury. She shared on her blog this week, “I had a horrible accident. I will be okay. I have all my fingers but a very impaired right hand. It was very bloody and scary but I am ok.”

Mayim is quite the trooper and didn’t take any time off work despite undergoing surgery on her hand. She shared, “I will be continuing on The Big Bang Theory with no weeks off; they are so good to me and I love my job and the support I get from my buddies on the cast and our loving staff and crew.”

She did admit that her character, Amy Farrah Fowler, will have to wait to play the harp for a while. “I will not be playing the harp for some time. [One of the worst things] is not having the dexterity, and one of the reasons I went back to work was to give our writers the opportunity to see what it looked like, to see how I moved and see what we’d need to work on. At some point it may have more movement, but at this point it doesn’t, so we can’t make it look like I’m disco dancing. “

The celebrity mom is grateful that her husband and kids are so supportive. “Thank God my kids are old enough to walk on their own pretty much everywhere. The little one is four and doesn’t really get that I can’t play actively but we found things I can do with them. I can play bingo lying down. My husband is an at-home dad and he is amazing. I’m his third child for these months.”

We wish her a speedy recovery.
