5 Tips To Choose Your Wedding Venue

Are you anxious to finalize your wedding venue and still can’t decide on that one place to say “I do”? Don’t worry, it is expected; we all want our big day to take place in the most perfect location. Here are some tips that can come in handy while choosing your wedding venue. Want to know what they are? Read on to find out.

1. Decide your budget

One of the first things to consider is the overall budget of your wedding. Once you decide on the budget, allocate suitable portions for the venue, catering, wedding dress, band, decorations, etc. By finalizing the budget for each of these, you can finally start shortlisting things based on your finances, making it easier to reach a final decision.

2. Ceremony and reception place

Once you have decided on the budget, then plan whether you want your wedding ceremony and reception at the same location or different venues. For instance, some people prefer getting married at Church, others enjoy an open-air wedding at the beach. Some like their backyard above all else, saving their budget to throw a reception at a fancy place.

Some couples also prefer to get hitched and throw a reception at the same place so their guests don’t have to travel between multiple locations. Hence, select the venues carefully based on the budget and your preference. If you want to have everything in one place, make sure to look for venues that offer services for both events.

3. Venue capacity

An estimate of your guest count will help you finalize the table arrangements and optimize the available space. If you plan to have a grand wedding celebration, it’s always best to look for venues with huge open spaces, indoor and outdoor. You don’t want your guests to feel cramped, making it difficult to move around.

However, if it’s an intimate affair with only a handful of guests, you can look for small and cozy venues. Booking a big hall for a few guests will make the venue look empty. So, whatever you decide, always consider the guest capacity of the venue to ensure your guests are comfortable during the celebration.

4. Backup plan

If you opt for an outdoor venue, inquire about the backup options in case of inclement weather. While it might seem obvious that all venues should offer this, several do not. However, if your venue has a backup plan, sit with them and discuss how things will be managed. You must discuss how you and your partner will be escorted and how the guests will be promptly moved to avoid getting caught in the harsh weather.

Also, ask about the food arrangements in situations like these. If you are well-informed, you will be stress-free on the big day. Plus, you can make swift moves if you know about the backup plan beforehand. Meet the facility supervisor with your event manager to ensure that everyone has a good idea about the plan B, thus ensuring you have a joyous wedding celebration even in an emergency.

5. Logistics

Always consider logistics while choosing your wedding venue. For instance, if you plan to get married away from the city, how far is the venue from the airport? Will guests be comfortable traveling to the venue? Does your venue have reasonable accommodations nearby for you and your guests to stay? Also, make sure to enquire about the amenities, rental duration, curfew, noise restriction rules, etc., to avoid any last-minute surprises.

Choosing the right wedding venue is not easy. It is time-consuming and exhausting, but it’s all worth it when you walk down the aisle. Follow these tips and choose the right venue for your new beginnings.
