When most people think “Disney themed party,” they think of kids’ parties with pictures of princesses or talking cars on everything. But I’m here to tell you it *is* possible to throw a classy Disney themed baby shower for the Disney-loving soon-to-be mama in your life. Here are just a few theme ideas:
Mary Poppins

I have seen a few very stylish Mary Poppins baby showers! A Mary Poppins theme lends to a nice, gender-neutral color palette. And who doesn’t enjoy an excuse to wear a giant hat?
Color Palette: White and red, with light blue as an accent color
Decor: Decorate with penguins, parasols, carousel horses, and kites! Copies of the book by P.L. Travers could make great guest favors or game prizes (available on Amazon).
Food: Take a cue from the “Jolly Holiday” scene and set up an English tea party, including scones with jams and clotted cream, finger sandwiches, and various iced teas. A pretty dessert buffet is also a great way to pay homage to “Spoonful of Sugar.”
Dumbo

Uh oh, here come the waterworks…yes, the song “Baby Mine” gets me right in the feels every time. But the love between Dumbo and Mama Jumbo is so sweet and touching; it lends itself perfectly to a baby shower theme. (Just DON’T refer to the mama-to-be as “Jumbo” at any point during the party.)
Color Palette: Gray and pink (girl), gray and blue (boy), or gray and yellow (neutral)
Decor: Think circus! Decorate with brightly colored streamers and balloons. I found some Dumbo themed printable invitations from CarolAnnRoseDesigns on Etsy and Dumbo story book bunting from RocketnFloss on Etsy. If you want to go over-the-top, hire a face painter or a balloon animal artist!
Food: Go casual and simple like concession stand foods—pizza, burgers, hot dogs, and fries (you can throw in a salad, too). Dessert is the main event here—marshmallow peanuts, animal crackers, cotton candy, popcorn (served in classic paper bags), peanut butter and chocolate cupcakes, and ice cream. For drinks, soda and lemonade are the perfect fit.
Monsters Inc.

The loveable and furry Mike and Sully from Monsters Inc. make an adorable theme for a little baby boy’s shower. For a girl, feature some images of the cute tiny star of the movie, Boo.
Color Palette: Pastel purple, blue, and green
Decor: Decorate with a “little monsters” theme, including Mike and Sully plushies (which can also double as game prizes). You can purchase Monsters themed shower games from Puzzle Prints on Etsy here. Print out these tiny socks from Pinky Ducky onto sticker paper, cut out, and use as name tags for guests.
Food: Serve yellow snow cones (“It’s lemon!”), veggie rolls as a nod to Mike and Celia’s sushi date, and cotton candy as “monster fur.”
Sleeping Beauty

Make it blue…no, make it pink! This fun scene in Sleeping Beauty sets the stage for the perfect gender reveal baby shower!
Color Palette: Blue and pink, of course!
Decor: Aurora (Briar Rose) from Sleeping Beauty is one of the original Disney princesses, so decorate with tiaras and roses. Fairies and magic wands also work perfectly! If all that is a little too girly for your taste, you can simply do a more neutral “story book” or “royal” theme. For invites, this blue and pink design from Minted is perfect!
Food: Anything with a mix of blue and pink, like sprinkles on cupcakes or icing on cookies. Pink (raspberry) and/or blue (blueberry) lemonade is a sweet addition to the food table. The classic gender reveal involves cutting a white-frosted cake to reveal blue or pink frosting on the inside. Other ideas include piping pink or blue frosting into vanilla cupcakes, giving your guests poppers filled with pink or blue confetti, or opening a large “present” to reveal pink or blue helium-filled balloons.
Classic Mickey and Minnie

No theme can top the original classic couple! A Mickey and/or Minnie theme is perfect for a gender neutral party, or simply add touches of the duo to your standard blue or pink shower decor.
Color Palette: Red, black, and white with yellow as an accent color
Decor: Create centerpieces using baby’s breath in vases tied with black or red ribbon. If you are DIYing any decor, you can download a Disney-ish font here (free for personal use only). A game of Disney trivia or charades could be fun! And mouse ear hats or headbands make a great favor for guests to take home; you can find them on DisneyStore.com.
Food: “Classic” afternoon shower foods, such as salads and sandwiches, are a perfect fit here. You can use a Mickey-shaped cookie cutter to make themed cookies, brownies, or Rice Krispie treats. If you want to serve a dessert that fits the color palette, consider red velvet cupcakes with vanilla frosting and mini Oreo cookies for “ears.” For drinks, serve milk (regular and chocolate) with red-striped paper straws.
