Celebrities Quit Twitter For A Good Cause

Kim Kardashian, Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake, and other celebrities quit Twitter and Facebook to help raise money for the Keep A Child Alive foundation.

Celebrities are stepping up to help Alicia Keys to raise $1 million for the Keep A Child Alive charity in honor of World AIDS Day on Wednesday.  Kim, Lady Gaga, Justin, Usher, Ryan Seacrest, and others have pledged their “Digital Life Sacrifice” to go silent on social networking sites until the money is raised.

Alicia Keys shared: “It’s so important to shock you to the point of waking up. It’s not that people don’t care or it’s not that people don’t want to do something, it’s that they never thought of it quite like that.”

The group is hoping that Facebook and Twitter fans will jump in and pledge money so that their favorite celebs come back to the “social networking world” quicker. They are counting on Lady Gaga’s 24 million Facebook fans and over 7 million Twitter followers to do a good portion of the pledging!
