One of the biggest trends I’ve noticed in home decor lately has been the influx of cool, cleverly designed artwork and wall-hangings that have a message. Gone are the days of “Home Sweet Home” woodcuts, and enter laser-cut posters with favorite song lyrics, or family mottoes stenciled in rainbow colors, or hand-lettered aphorisms in varying modern typefaces. Whether your goal is to make your family’s credo obvious and constantly reinforced, or just to provide daily inspiration for your kids, here is some really lovely art for kids to beautify your home while also getting a message across.
What’s your family’s motto?

Share Your Toys
I love the stuff from The Land of Nod so much it's criminal. (Seriously: Land of Nod! Call me! Heck, I'd even wallpaper my walls with the images from their catalog!) Anyway, here's one adorable poster, perfect for a playroom or a shared bedroom!

Do Your Best
This gray and yellow pennant, from the fabulous family-owned shop Three Potato Four (I love their vintage finds!), currently adorns the walls in chez moi, since it's pretty much what we, as a family, have decided is in our top three rules of life. It's simple, effective, and just pretty darn cute.

Be Present
I love the visual play of this graphic reminder to stay in the moment, from one of my fave Etsy shops, ShopAmpersand.

No Matter What
Here's another one, from graphic artist Christopher David Ryan, that I bought and put up in each of my girls' rooms. It's what I say every single night when I tuck them into bed. (I love you...no matter what. And no matter how frustrated you are making me by NOT wanting to go bed!!)

Stay Weird
This handmade item from Etsy shop Sharp Tooth Studio may be little, but the words speak volumes about individuality and embracing your quirks.

Don't Forget to Be Strong
The website Children Inspire Design is chock-a-block with awesome wall stuff, and here's one I really love. (Although frankly, it's hard to choose!) Whatever message you want to convey, they've probably got it.
