Now that Winslet’s youngest son, Bear, has watched it, it seems like the cult classic draws out a sad but similar reaction from the viewers. In a recent interview, the Academy Award-winning actor revealed how her 10-year-old son shed tears after watching the James Cameron directorial.
Kate Winslet reveals son Bear was ‘very upset’ after watching ‘Titanic’
During an interview with E! News, Kate Winslet revealed how her son, Bear Blaze Winslet, reacted after watching the cult classic. She explained, “My youngest has seen Titanic, he saw it last year.” The actor continued, “He cried a lot, and he kept having to pause it, and he was very upset.” The actor shares Bear with her husband, Edward Abel Smith, whom she married in 2012.
Winslet also discussed which one of her films her other children — Mia Honey Threapleton and Joe Alfie Mendes — love the most. She admitted, “My older two, who are nearly 24 and 21 they love Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Yeah, that’s a big favorite for them.” The mother of three admitted that she does not enjoy seeing herself onscreen. However, she was still disappointed when she learned that her eldest son and daughter had watched “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind” without her.
Kate Winslet further explained why she always wanted to watch the Michel Gondry film with her children. She said, “I think Eternal Sunshine was one of those films that seemed to really capture people’s minds.” Moreover, she feels there has been “a Zeitgeist thing that happened around that film.” The actor emphasized, “And so I think I always thought I would want to watch it with my kids one day.” However, they beat her to it.
