Kristen Wiig And Fiancé Welcome Twins Via Surrogate

There’s a new celebrity mom in town, and no one saw it coming. A source confirms that Kristen Wiig and her fiancé Avi Rothman are proud new parents! The couple welcomed twins earlier this year via a surrogate, the source tells Us Weekly.

The 45-year-old funny lady ignited rumors she was starting a family when she thanked her own mother for ‘preparing me to be a mom myself’ during a Mother’s Day sketch on SNL last month, and now it’s official.

“This is the Mother’s Day show, and at SNL, it’s a very special time to celebrate moms,” Wiig said. “Unfortunately, probably like a lot of you, I can’t be with my mom on this Mother’s Day. So I hope it’s OK, I would like to tell her I love her.”

The actress continued, “I don’t know if I truly appreciated my mom the first 45 years of my life. But this year I’m feeling especially grateful for her advice, her love. I’m so thankful for all the things she’s taught me, like preparing to be a mom myself.”

She added, “Things like breastfeeding,” while lifting up a plate of raw chicken breasts, saying, “Babies love that chicken, she would always say that.”

These are the first children for the notoriously private couple, who were confirmed to be engaged in August last year, several months after he’d proposed.

Wiig and Rothman dated for three years and were first seen together while on holiday in Hawaii in 2016.

Previously, Wiig was married to actor Hayes Hargrove from 2005 until 2009 and then dated The Strokes drummer Fabrizio Moretti in 2012 until 2013.
