Fun DIY Pineapple-Scented Candles That Even Teens Can Make

If your family loves eating pineapples or loves the smell of them, you will surely enjoy this DIY candle. DIY pineapple-scented candles are easy to make, adorable to look at, and a good craft to work on as the seasons begin to change. If you are a fan of warmer months, the smell of tropical fruit will add a hint of summer to your home as the temperature begins to drop.

Moreover, you can make them in large numbers for gifting purposes. This could be a great craft to bond with your teens as well. If not pineapple, you can swap it with any other fruity scent of your choice and your options are endless. Simply add your favorite scent and wax color instead of pineapple fragrance oil and the rest of the procedure stays the same. You can also make various shapes with felt to go with your scented candle.

Materials

  • Soy wax flakes
  • Candle wax pitcher
  • Candle wicks
  • 170 ml glass jars
  • Candle wax colorant (yellow or in any color of your choice)
  • Pineapple fragrance oil (or any of your choice)
  • Black paint
  • Green paint
  • Paintbrush
  • Green felt
  • Hot glue gun

Procedure

  1. To make the DIY pineapple-scented candles, first use a drop of hot glue to attach the candle wicks to the center of the bottom of the glass jars.
  2. Then, in the candle pitcher, over low-medium heat, melt four cups of soy wax flakes, stirring frequently.
  3. Now, add three blocks of yellow wax colorant, mixing it in with 20-30 drops of pineapple fragrance oil (depending on how mild or strong you like your scented candles). Stir it all together.
  4. Then, carefully pour the hot wax into the candle jars. Make sure to allow the jars to sit undisturbed until the wax is completely cool.
  5. While the candles are cooling, paint the lids of the jars green and make the felt tops. For this, cut a green felt in a zig-zag fashion.
  6. Now, simply roll the sheet to resemble the pineapple leaves.
  7. Lastly, use the hot glue gun to attach the felt toppers to the jar caps.

There you go, your DIY pineapple-scented candles are ready. You can even draw, write, or print and paste funny messages on the jar to make the craft more personalized and fun. So, get the materials and try to make these DIY pineapple-scented candles at home.
