If you’re spending any time at the beach this Memorial Day we’ve made a fun printable scavenger hunt for your family, made just for the beach! Kids will love to collect these treasures in exchange for a reward. This scavenger game has a twist though…
First download the beach scavenger sheet. You can download and print this same beach scavenger hunt sheet I made right here or you can create your own. I printed them on thick cardstock
The premise of this pirate scavenger hunt is that we’ve found a list of a pirate’s favorite things! If we collect all his favorite things we can exchange it for some of his treasure (or booty). Younger toddler will need the help of an adult or older child on the hunt. We had young toddler so we teamed up in groups to help with the hunt
Set off to the beach. All of the items on the list you should be able to find easily at most beaches
I found that it’s best to look for one item at a time. Even though there might be many items you can find in one spot, it’s confusing for the child.
Also, let your child find the item on their own. You might give them clues, but let them spot and pick it up.
When all the pirates favorite things are collected, the kids placed them in a secret spot (ours was under the staircase outside). That night, the pirate came and exchanged them for some of his treasure (like a pirate hat or sword or just candy and a toy).
