4-Ingredient Strawberry Ice Cream Recipe for Kids

Summertime means ice cream time. It is the perfect sweet treat to beat the heat. Kids love them, and so do the adults. That is why we have a 4-ingredient strawberry ice cream recipe, which is not as time-consuming as traditional ice cream-making but is just as delicious. You can easily store this strawberry ice cream for a week and make the recipe anytime you want.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound fresh strawberries
  • 3 ripe bananas, peeled
  • 2 tablespoons sweetened condensed milk
  • 1½ cups heavy cream
  • Fresh strawberry chunks (optional)

Preparation 

  1. To make the 4-ingredient strawberry ice cream recipe, rinse and pat down the strawberries to dry them and remove the stems. Then, cut them into quarters. Finally, slice the bananas into ½-inch thick slices (skip this step if you have a strong blender).
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Then, arrange strawberries and banana pieces flat on the tray in a single layer, with some distance between each piece. Finally, freeze for at least six hours or overnight until solid.
  3. Place the banana slices and strawberry pieces in a food processor or blender when frozen. If the slices have stuck together, break them apart by hand or with a wooden spatula first so that the processor can run smoothly. Refrain from overfilling the processor, as it might not work properly.
  4. Now add sweetened condensed milk and cream to the blender. Process the ingredients until a thick, creamy paste is formed, which should take about 2-4 minutes. Scrape down the processor sides with a spatula as needed.
  5. Process in 2-3 rounds so as not to overwork the blender. Gradually increase the blending speed, but keep the blending within two minutes.
  6. Once blended, add fresh fruit to the mix. This step is optional, but we highly recommend it as it adds a nice bite to the ice cream.
  7. Now serve immediately or transfer the blended ice cream to an airtight container to freeze for another four hours.
