I love a quick, sweet smoothie packed with nutrients! Breakfast, snack, dessert — it’s lovely anytime! And float a few pomegranate seeds on top for that extra festive look! My four-year-old loves the addition of the crunch!
Ingredients:
- 1 cup non-fat yogurt
- 1 cup pomegranate juice (from concentrate)
- 2 cups chopped banana
- 2 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 tablespoon honey
- 1/4 cup pomegranate seeds
Preparation:
Serves 4 kids
Total Prep Time: less than 5 minutes
Put everything except the pomegranate seeds into the blender and puree until smooth! Sprinkle a few pomegranate seeds on top, and you’re done!
An additional note:
To save time you can purchase prepackaged pomegranate seeds. Gelson’s and Trader Joe’s usually sell them this way during the holidays. (If you choose to start with a whole pomegranate, use a chef’s knife and make a cut through the crown of the pomegranate, halfway through the fruit. Then, use your hands to break it open. Repeat the process with each half and, working over a bowl, use your fingers to gently remove the seeds from the peel and membranes.)
