I simply make one big batch on Sunday night and keep it in a loaf pan in the refrigerator for the rest of the week, which makes it a quick and easy option on the weekdays. This way I can quickly cut out an individual slice, reheat it and then finish it off with any fresh topping of my choosing. Is there anything easier than that?
Ingredients:
- 1 cup steel cut oats
- 2 cups water
- 2 cups
- 2% milk
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons strawberry jam, if desired
- 1/2 cup sliced fresh strawberries
Preparation:
Combine the oats, water, milk, cinnamon, sugar and strawberry jam in the slow cooker and cook it on low heat for eight hours. Once it is finished cooking, scoop a portion of it into a fresh bowl and top it with fresh berries. Then scoop the rest into a 9×5 loaf pan and store it covered in the fridge until the next meal.
