Italian Rub Recipe
I also have a go to Italian spice rub that’s perfect on salads or even with a baked potato on the side.
Ingredients:
- dried oregano: 2 teaspoons
- ground oregano: 1 teaspoon
- thyme: 1 tablespoon
- basil: 1 tablespoon
- pepper: ½ teaspoon
- salt: 1 teaspoon
- garlic: 1 teaspoon
- olive oil: 1 tablespoon
Step 1: Combine the dry ingredients and spices for any of the 3 rub recipes in a medium bowl.
Step 2: Mix until thoroughly combined.
Step 3: Drizzle a pound of steak or chicken with the olive oil.
Step 4: Rub in the spice mixture of your choice and let the meat sit for at least 30 minutes to absorb the flavor. You can do this earlier in the day, and store it in the fridge until you're ready to grill!
Step 5: Grill over medium heat until the meat reaches the desired temperature.
Step 6: Serve.
