Strawberry Lemonade Recipe

Fresh Strawberry Lemonade Recipe

When I went strawberry picking last month, one of the things we made, in addition to pies, ice creams and jam, was strawberry lemonade. It is so incredibly simple to make and is wonderfully refreshing on hot summer days. In fact, this formula is so straightforward feel free to substitute raspberries if you’d prefer. It is up to you! My daughter would also like you to know that this mixture freezes well as popsicles in case the kids want a special treat for themselves.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup strawberries, washed, hulled and halved
  • 1 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1 cup granulated sugar (or more if desired)
  • 3 cups water

Preparation:

1. In a blender, puree the strawberries with ¼ cup of the lemon juice until completely smooth. Pour the liquid through a fine mesh strainer to remove the seeds and pulp.

2. In a pitcher stir together the strawberry puree and lemon juice, the sugar and water. Add more sugar if desired to sweeten.
