Mexican Hot Chocolate Recipe

Easy Mexican Hot Chocolate

I buy hot chocolate mixes from time to time, but this is honestly just as good as anything off the shelf and is so much cheaper than buying the premade mixes. If you want to season this any other way, go ahead and do so, since this recipe is flexible enough to allow that. Sometimes I even just remove the spices and make it plain. So long as it is rich, chocolatey and served in a hot mug I can wrap my fingers around, it is just perfect for me!

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup cocoa powder
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 3 cups powdered milk
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon ground chili powder

Preparation:

1. Whisk all the above ingredients together in a mixing bowl. To make the hot chocolate add 4 Tablespoons of the mix to a mug and pour in 8 ounces (1 cup) of boiling water. Stir well and enjoy
