Have you ever found yourself wandering through the hallowed halls of Target and wondering to yourself why you can’t find literally all of your favorite things there? Well, Target hears you, mamas because they just announced that Disney will be moving in.
Pretty soon, you won’t have to shop at a separate online or brick and mortar store to get your favorite Disney merch because it will be housed at select Target stores and online coming this fall.
Target is partnering with Disney to bring even more magic to our shopping experience. In October, Target is opening 25 Disney stores within already existing Target stores. The 750-square-foot spaces will include more than 450 items all ranging in price from $2 to $200 with most of the products under an affordable $20. But even better, consumers can use their Target REDcard to get an additional 5% off plus opt for same-day pickup or same-day delivery, and free two-day shipping options in the Disney store.
The Disney stores will be conveniently located near the kids’ clothes and toys sections and will be staffed by Target employees who will be trained in all things Disney so that consumers can ask questions about their favorite Disney brands that will be available. These brands include Disney Princess, Star Wars, Classic Disney plush, apparel, home & holiday items, and collections such as the Disney Animators’ Collection. Many of these items were previously exclusively available only at Disney.
The October launch will also include a Disney section on the Target website that brings products from Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars brands to Target consumers (OMG HAPPY DANCE!) where all of the Target benefits will still apply.
This is a smart and huge deal when one considers that there is a roughly 90% overlap in customer bases between the two giant brands. Moms who take their kids to Disney are definitely shopping at Target. Which is why not only will Disney be popping up inside of Target stores but Target itself is going to make its big debut at Disney. In 2021, there will be a new Target store built near Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando in 2021, which will be super convenient for vacationing families who need to pick up a few extra things.
This will come just as the holiday shopping season will be heating up so start making your wish lists now! Target will be announcing even more details soon so keep your eyes peeled for updates.
