Ingredients:
- 1 loaf day old French or Italian bread
- 7 eggs
- 2 cups milk
- 2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon light brown sugar (optional or substitute with 1 tablespoon maple syrup)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Preparation:
Step 1: Generously grease the crock pot with butter or a cooking spray.
Step 2: Rip bread up into 3 inch pieces and toss them in the crock pot.
Step 3 (optional): Sprinkle brown sugar over the bread.
Step 4: Whisk together eggs, milk, cinnamon, and vanilla.
Step 5: Pour the egg mixture over the over bread.
Step 6: Set crock pot to low setting. For Crock Pot French Toast, cook for 6 hours. For Crock Pot French Toast Bread Pudding, cook for at least 8 hours.
Step 7: Wake to find glorious, bubbling, warm, sweet-smelling bread pudding for the whole family! Serve with maple syrup, if desired.
