I love Snickers Bars, but I have an aversion to giving my family food made from ingredients I can’t pronounce—it’s a conundrum. Or, it was a condundrum until I came up with a kid-friendly recipe and whipped up this Snickers-inspired dip made with only all-natural ingredients. It’s a perfect treat that makes a great dessert, snack, or serve it at a kids’ party!
Ingredients:
- 8 ounces cream cheese
- ¼ cup honey*
- ½ cup caramel sauce, cooled
- ½ cup crushed salted peanuts, plus more as necessary (depending on your serving dish)
- ½ cup melted semi-sweet chocolate chips, or more to taste
Directions:
Step 1: Combine cream cheese and honey in a medium bowl and beat with an electric mixer until light and
creamy, about 2 minutes. Evenly layer the mixture into a shallow bowl, good for dipping.
Step 2: Pour cooled, but still liquid caramel sauce over the cream cheese mixture. Using an offset spatula, evenly spread the caramel to cover the cream cheese, being careful not to mix the two. You want two distinct layers.
Step 3: Cover the caramel with crushed peanuts.
Step 4: Drizzle melted chocolate over the peanuts. If you prefer, you can completely cover the peanuts. Serve immediately with slices of crisp, green apple, plain butter cookies, or graham crackers.
*Honey is not safe for children younger than 12-months-old due to risk of botulism. Do not share this with young eaters under 12 months old.
