Overall
Disenchanted is the live-action sequel to the 2007 hit Enchanted starring Amy Adams and Patrick Dempsey. In Enchanted a fairy tale princess finds herself in the real-world, in Disenchanted the same princess decides to turn her drab suburban real-world home into a fairy tale land. Her magic and spells cause more harm than good as her good intentions turn evil. The story is fun and filled with humorous and catchy songs, however there are several scenes that may be too intense for more sensitive audience members. Several times characters are places in perilous situations encountering dragons, giants, potions and other fantastical scenarios. Characters can be cruel to each other but it’s often due to them being under an evil spell. The characters learn lessons about family and just how magical the real-world can be.
